The Obama Adminstration's War on We The People
76September 13, 2011
Can we spell Abuse of Power? There is unquestionably abuses of power that have continued seemingly unfettered by the current administration. This is a grave problem because unlike the war on terror, the enemy is from within and it goes by the name of the Attorney General Eric Holder.
It seems that this administration has a new abuse of our constitutional rights a minute! To wit—The Wall Street Journal had an op-Ed “For Profit Lawsuits” on September 12, 2011.
Eric Holder didn’t find enough evidence to bother with Black Panthers dressed in para-military uniforms, wielding clubs as they stood outside of voting areas acting in a very threatening way towards white voters. To Eric Holder that didn’t constitute voter intimidation. As I understood it although not quoted publicly, the Obama administration privately believed that only if this were reversed did this type of thing meet the criteria for voter intimidation. In other words, it doesn’t count when blacks/African Americans intimidate white folk, only when it’s the other way around that it is a criminal act.
Right. When I read the law on this I too saw where whites were excluded from these protections…

And if you believe that, then I have a dandy little bridge in Brooklyn I can sell you for a reduced price…
Apparently though, Eric Holder adheres to the what-is-good-for-the-goose-doesn’t apply-to-the-gander-theory.
So he continues to sell guns to Mexican drug Lords, he continues to warp the constitution by hammering guitar businesses that have a CEO who dares to contribute to Republican or conservative causes, he sues our own citizens in Arizona for following federal law and the latest is the Justice Department has dredged up a Civil War era law to go after for-profit colleges.
I’m not making this up.
In an effort to intimidate, harass and wield the power of the federal government and to line the pockets of another pet group of Mr. Obama’s, trail lawyers, Eric Holder has determined that this group’s supposed violation is far more egregious than voter intimidation or illegal aliens crossing our borders like salmon swimming down stream. No no no! Holder doesn't have time for these sniggly, wiggly little annoyances. He must go after those demoniacally evil colleges that **gasp** dare to make a profit!
I shudder at the mere thought!
Their terrible crime? I’ll let the WSJ tell it:
The facts of the case involve the Education Management Corporation, a Pittsburgh company that runs dozens of for-profit schools in the U.S. and Canada. According to the plaintiffs, the company broke federal law by paying its admissions recruiters on the basis of student enrollment. While the schools are allowed to take recruiters' success into account, they are not permitted to use it as the only factor determining compensation.
The company says its compensation plan, which included a legally vetted matrix of enrollment numbers combined with factors including good employee qualities like professionalism, customer service and initiative complied with the regulations issued by the Department of Education in 2002. In the preamble to the regulations, the Department acknowledged that "by the very job description, a recruiter's job is to recruit," and that Congress's new provision on employee compensation "did not imply that institutions could not base salaries or salary increases on merit."
The Justice Department had previously passed up involvement in some 30 cases filed against for-profit and non-for-profit institutions since 2002 according to the WSJ article. Why bring a lawsuit this past May 2011?
As is the MO for this administration, an odor of a rat seems to be in the air and I’m smelling it.
I recently read in a comment someone made on Facebook regarding the Justice Department's Gestapo-like raid of the Gibson guitar headquarters. The writer said something like "The war on every single means of commerce in this country has been declared."
The enemy is Eric Holder and the Obama administration.
2012 cannot come fast enough for me!

EXCELLENT! This administration has a pretty good idea that's it's going to lose the battle in November. They've decided to burn the village before they leave. Well put together my friend. Keep up the good work.

Hey lady. You've assessed the D.O.J. well. Holder and his allies have for sure made it into the "Just Us" department.
The only good news in all of this is the next president can with a straight face and plenty of facts, BLAME IT ON OBAMA. At last George Bush will be able to get some rest without being blamed for everything from the heat to hurricanes.
Great stuff Carol. Let's use it on tomorrow's show.
cjv,
Awesome hub here and you are echoing my sentiments exactly. Laws are to be applied evenly to all groups, even if it is a black person practicing the discrimination toward a white. As for the current DOJ filing lawsuit after lawsuit against ANY state that dares try to enforce its laws, if the fed would enforce the laws they already have, maybe the states wouldn't be forced into enforcing their own. Like you, 2012 cannot arrive fast enough to please me. From my vantage point, it looks like this administration is only able to stifle freedom and destroy job creation and job creators!!

Great Hub, Up and Awesome. You shown some good examples but the scary part is there are more abuses. Think about the ones we have not even heard about yet.
By the way, what show?
I don't understand why Holder is still Attorney General. He has committed more crimes than all his felons put together. Where is Congress on this? Why do we not hear their voices? As for Obama, he is ripe for impeachment. Waiting for 2012 may be waiting too long. Up useful, interesting and awesome!
Carol, (you sweet lookin' lady)
I'm with you, as expected. I wrote about the failures of this pretender on another site. I tried to list all his failures, but my fingers tired.
This supposedl "smart" man, is an idiot tha believes Chicago politics rule. He believes he is Sol Alinsky, and choose idiots to work for him. H
