Obamacare Uses Tax Dollars to Fund Abortions

Upon these pages, there was a debate regarding Obamacare and tax payer funded abortions. The Hyde amendment was mentioned as an argument why abortions couldn’t be taxpayer funded within Obamacare.

Au contraire mon ami!

At the risk of being accused of using blogs to support this argument, I list here a number of resources, not blogs, that discuss the fact that Obama’s healthcare bill, now signed into law, does indeed make provisions (a number of them) to fund tax payer paid abortions. Below are just a mere smattering of news resources that discuss this fact.

First, there is an important article that was in The Wall Street Journal regarding how Obamacare squeezed in the provision for tax payer funded abortions:

Also – those who are of the liberal bent and can’t wrap their minds around this fact, remember this – the Stupak Amendment to the healthcare bill, headed by a group of Democrats would have ensured no tax payer dollars would be used. I’m curious to know the answer to this question, if you are of the mind tax dollars can’t be used to fund abortions in Obamacare, why did these Democrats make an amendment that stopped abortions from being taxpayer funded?

If it wasn’t in the healthcare bill, what would a half dozen Democrats have gone against their own party, holding out their votes to make Obamacare law, if the bill didn’t contain provisions and ways that tax dollars would be used to fund abortions?

Fact: those same Democrats caved and dropped their demand /the amendment, yet still signed on the dotted line to make Obamacare law. Despicable lot. They undermined their own principles and morals for what they must have thought at the time was political expediency. How did that work out for them? Rhetorical.
