Google's Liberal Bias

Apparently – not only is Mr. Al Gore a very substantial part of the Google empire, but Google has a tremendous liberal bias and not only spends a enormous amounts of money on liberal causes, but there is evidence it censors conservative businesses and other conservative organizations.

Add to the mix - YouTube. If liberals don’t like what you write or say, Google very likely will remove you from their search engine and uTube will do the same thing if you make a video expressing conservative ideas. Apparently, Google will remove your business or cause from search hits and/or refuse you ad-space as well. So Google is not only rejecting Republican or conservative ads, but they’re also apparently blocking these same types of businesses from getting search hits.

Apparently these liberal giants – Google/uTube (Google owns uTube – so no surprise) – are using “hate speech” as just one of their reasons for censorship. I have always known liberals are intolerant, so I’m only mildly surprised by this “turn of events”. My suggestion is check these assertions out for yourself, and then assert your rights. Stop using Google, Yahoo and stop using uTube. Use their competitors. Stop lining the pockets of Al Gore and companies who put boat loads of money into the pockets of an administration like we’re stuck with now. Google and Yahoo apparently didn’t give one dime to a Republican or Conservative politician. There is other evidence that Google is actually manipulating search results along with censoring non-liberal organizations.

Most of you remember the “miserable failure” search results while George W. Bush was President. Type in “miserable failure” on Google search and hit “I Feel Lucky” right below the search block and Google would immediately link you to a biography of George Bush. They denied they had any hand in manipulating their search engine to do this, but they recently killed that search anomaly and it took them years to kill this “Google bomb” search as they call it. So it’s not just that the vast majority of Google employees contributed to this current leftist administration, they are active participants in helping to form it in a very real way.

First of all, we as American citizens have a right to be censors of our own. Stop using Google and Yahoo. I just did. I’m going to use their competitor. Stop using uTube as well. I realize that if we tried to “boycott” every single company we disagree with – we’d have to live as hermits in a cave. However – there are certain lines I will not cross. Heinz foods for example – I won’t knowingly buy any products that will make Mrs. Kerry richer. I found out “Smart Choices” was owned by Teresa Heinz Kerry – I started buying their competitor’s products.

Use another search engine – one that supports conservative causes. Try using this search page: The “Right” Search Page which is a project of the Conservative Caucus. Put it on your favorites and use this handy dandy page that has a whole bunch of searches on this page to include a Bible search. Tell your friends about it. Go to this page whenever possible.

Try Kosmix –a search engine for conservatives. The Kosmix people are not attempting to become a "Google" but they are attempting to appeal to a "niche" and that would be the non-liberal type. More power to them! Head to Kosmix and start using them whenever you can. I'm doing it! Now this is not going to give you the results like a Google or Yahoo search will – apparently they're still working out a few minor kinks - so these alternatives probably won’t be what you’d wish to use exclusively – however, I know I’ll be using these alternatives whenever possible.

Here’s a handy, dandy Conservative and Christian website I happened to stumble upon with numerous excellent conservative news sources as well as blogs and other conservative viewpoints. Cobblestone Road Ministries.

We can only do so much – right now, I’m not going to to take my survival pack and move to a cave. However, until I do – as with this administration, it may eventually come to that… I’m going to endeavor to prevent my money from going to causes I morally disagree with and I’m going to support the ones I morally agree with.

I hear ya. This is something that doesn't surprise me either. Some real deep pockets here and they should be investigated (not by this administration) but whom can we trust anymore?

There is actually a PERSON, who choses what sites will come up when you type into Google - algorithms be damned! Google would be a huge joke if they weren't backed by the CIA. Yes, folks, you heard it here first, they own a substantial percentage - and Google has moved a big part of their operations to Moffett Field - a federal air filed here in silicon valley. Now why, you may ask, would a hi-tech company have it's main operations on federal property, hmmm? They also have offices in Mountain View (where Moffett is) too.

Great info cjv - I'll check out the sites you mentioned :)

This is an education-wow!

May I add to your list-I haven't bought Nestle products ever -30 years ago they introduced African women to formula milk-in hospital- and then supplied them with enough free formula until their own milk dried up -so then what happened-!More recently they have been at it again.

Going to check out the Heinz business too.

Google should WISE UP and take tigger as their cue. They can go from great to a loser in minutes. They should not support liberal causes. They are losing customers by the second, considering 1/2 the population isn't a ridiculous liberal. The problem is that they ran by a bunch of children that have no critical thinking skills.

On December, 7 2010, Google and Yahoo logo had no indication of Pearl Harbor; however other search engines did. That is not an oversight; it is obvious and blatant bias

Very interesting FoleyHund. Thank you for that information. It's not surprising that this happened. As you said, obvious and blatant bias.

Thanks for the interesting comment.

Shroomduke 12 months ago

I hear some say Obama is a far left democrat, yet I also hear others say Obama is far to conservative and needs to move back to his liberal & progressive roots. The left/right position is very subjective relitive to ones own interpretation and persuasion

Google is a corporation, a coropration is a kingdome, a kingdom is an autocratic structure, Autocracy is characterized by the concentration of power in a single centre which is the antithesis of democracy.

If you do not like the results of google you are at liberty to use one of the great many other search engines or to create your own search engine to deliver decidedly conservative results, however I believe most people want access to all viewpoints so they can decide which is valid regardless of who considers it to lean one way or the other.

cjv123 profile image

cjv123 Hub Author 12 months ago

Shroomduke - one of the bottom lines is - I'd rather give my "clicks" -which in turn means give money - to another search engine. I in fact quote my own article above - "I suggest you use a different search engine..."

I didn't say I overall didn't like the results of Google - I know I'm at liberty to use other search engines - I wrote about that above.

But I thank you for your comments regardless.

Kevin - I did the same thing before I knew about Google's bias. I noticed there were very, very few conservative/Christian/republican widgets. I should have realized it then! Thanks for adding to the discussion!

PamD 10 months ago

This is HILARIOUS!!!! I stumbled on your blog by typing in "Liberal Leaning Search Engines". I'd love to find one, because I'm so frustrated with the conservative extremists who flood Yahoo's every post!! I guess if this blog is any indication, I'll just have to deal it. As with broadcast media, indeed, in any communication platform, you folks grossly dominate the conversation.

Bob 9 months ago

I think Google is bias, liberal and socialist. Look at all the support they get from Hollywood (the most liberals anywhere). We must use another search engine like Bing and put a stop to the socialist opinions of Google.

cjv123 profile image

cjv123 Hub Author 9 months ago

Agreed Bob - that's why I try to use them as little as possible. And now look at the lawsuit against them that it appears may be settled out of court. They took money from obviously illegal pharmaceutical companies for ads that were placed on Google. It looks pretty shady to me!

Kevin Karstens 6 months ago

James H. 4 months ago

As a centrist (btw its not easy being a moderate/centrist in todays political environment) I personally favor sites that do not have an overly conservative or liberal bias. I expect some left leaning (example CNN which is center left to center) or right leaning (example FOX news which is center right to right) in organizations. However when an organization becomes far right (like Glen Beck TV) or far left (like MSNBC) then it becomes difficult to accept them as anything more than the world THEY want you to perceive, not reality.

As for Google being socialist, that is pretty far from the truth. As for them being progressive, I would agree they lean left, but from my person experience, they are not so biased that I wouldn't use them. Therefore I will not buy into the "socialist" hype and I will continue to use them.

To a response earlier, President Obama is domestically left wing, but center-right concerning foreign policy. He combines both neo-conservative and liberal ideologies.

cjv123 Hub Author 4 months ago

Kevin - I guess I didn't make my point here clear - my fault - I did actually make it confusing. It's not exactly that Google skews their search results - it's that by using Google - I will be indirectly donating to liberal causes - so that is why I won't use them. If this doesn't bother you - then by all means - use them. It bothers me though. While I can't boycott all companies that give to liberal causes and politicians - I can try to make a difference in a small way and not help them line their pockets. Thanks for your insights. You're right, you're a rare bird - not too many like you. It was interesting to hear from you.

NOT ANY MORE!

As well as funding Goole is giving large sums of money to rightwing organizations and think tanks such as the Heritage Foundation, the American Enterprise Institute, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the Republican Governors Association, the GOP firm The David All Group, Crossroads Strategies, the Republican Attorneys General Association and the Republican State Leadership Committee, among others. Also together with Fox News they cosponsored a Republican presidential debate.

I rarely see any conservatives at YA. Most of them are Liberals waiting to attack anybody who so much as point out flaws in their ideas.

I have NEVER seen a conservative name call or make hate speech yet I have seen hundreds of so called tolerant Liberals scream and throw a fit over someone's views on Abortion.

I have seen one Liberal who first said he believes in peaceful talk yet a few posts later he said: 'I wish to throw a republican down the stairs like a slinkey' which makes me wanna throw up.

I do not understand how people can think Liberals are peace folks when they have so much anger behind their words.

I often wonder if Liberals have an insecurity issue.

Reality has a well-known liberal bias, y'know.

betsy white 3 weeks ago

Yahoo is just as liberal as google. They are both liberal and most people are aware of it and take what they push with a grain of salt. The country is getting alot smarter about how ignoble and biased the press is and they are learning who they can trust and who they cannot trust and they are beginning to fear their own government . All of these signs point to a conservative win in the next electio and a reversal of many of the

policies of this administration.

I hope you're right Betsy - but there are still too many who just follow the liberal brainwashing blindly and worse, they can vote...but I hope you're right and the masses are becoming better educated.
